Braces Friendly Recipe: Week 3

Hello everyone! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, all of us here at the office did! On November 14th we had a successful Thanksgiving Patient Craft Day. A BIG thank you to everyone that came. Here are some pictures from the craft day.

This week's braces friendly recipe comes from "The Braces Cookbook" by Pamela and Brenda Waterman. We hope everyone enjoys it.

Twisty Soft Pretzels
3/4 cup warm water
1/2 envelope yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
Pinches of salt or cinnamon-sugar

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake for 12 minutes

In a small bowl, stir together warm water, yeast and sugar. In a large bowl, mix salt and flour with a large spoon. After 5 minutes, stir yeast into flour mix.

With well floured hands, shape dough into 6-inch rods, initials, animals, or traditional twisted pretzel shapes. Brush them with the beaten egg and place on a greased cookie sheet. If desired, sprinkle them with extra salt, or cinnamon-sugar. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 minutes.

If anyone has a recipe they want to see featured on our blog email it to Januari at januari@dunayortho.com. We welcome any comments or suggestions!

Patient Craft Day!

Our very first Patient Craft day was on October 26th, and it was a success! A great big THANK YOU to all of our patients who showed up. We had a blast hanging out with everyone!

For those of you who couldn't make it out, we are having a Thanksgiving Craft Day next week on Wednesday November 14th from 6pm to 7:30pm. We will have chicken noodle soup, hot apple cider, and of course some pie! We will be making turkeys for the kids to share with their families on Thanksgiving.

We hope to see you there!
